Daryl Cagle started the Cagle.com Web site in 1996 as The Professional Cartoonists Index. The Cagle Cartoons syndicate started in 2000 when Daryl was drawing daily editorial cartoons for Gannett’s Honolulu Advertiser newspaper. Daryl gathered a group of five, brilliant cartoonist friends and started a “package” cartoon subscription service. The syndicate was incorporated as Cagle Cartoons, Inc. in 2001 and has grown to represent over 90 top cartoonists from around the world, along with a dozen great columnists.

The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville, Tennessee, is one of the world's largest museums and research centers dedicated to the preservation and interpretation of American vernacular music. Chartered in 1964, the museum has amassed one of the world's most extensive musical collections.

The David M. Rubenstein Rare Book & Manuscript Library at Duke University holds a significant collection of 19th and early 20th century American sheet music. The Historic American Sheet Music Project provides access to digital images of over 3000 pieces from the collection, published in the United States between 1850 and 1920.

Americana is a nonprofit, independent press dedicated to positive social change through the publication of exceptional American Studies scholarship, 1900 to present, and creative writing. We are especially interested in publishing material that examines such issues as social action, social justice, human rights, environmental awareness, the human condition, diversity, love, compassion, ethical and moral obligations. The Pop History Dig is a non-profit, magazine-styled website about contemporary culture and popular history. The purpose of the site is public education. One goal is to use the visibility of popular culture – its music, film, literature, famous personalities, etc. – to engage readers on topics ranging from civil rights history to the power of the entertainment industry.

The goal of the Reel American History Project by students at Lehigh University is to stimulate high school, college, and graduate students to think critically about the ways movies construct our history. To that end, this "ever in-progress" site is an expanding archive of student projects on individual films that also contains a variety of resource materials intended to enable other students to complete such projects.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame threw open its doors on September 2, 1995, and celebrated with a blockbuster benefit concert at nearby Cleveland Municipal Stadium. This marathon show featured once-in-a-lifetime pairings and performances by greats such as James Brown, Bob Dylan, Jerry Lee Lewis, Aretha Franklin, Johnny Cash and Booker T. and the M.G.s. Besides the Municipal Stadium concert, the Rock Hall’s festive opening weekend featured a downtown Cleveland parade and a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Little Richard and Yoko Ono.
