Democratic Communiqué is dedicated to examining all forms of mediated and communicative phenomena and issues from critical materialist perspectives that foreground their historical, political, and institutional underpinnings. Potential topics may include, but are not limited to, alternative, community, or public media, the internationalization of capital and information flows, media and imperialism, telecommunication and media industry ownership and consolidation, information technology and surveillance, feminist political economy, the communicative dimensions of race, social class, labor and social movements, and cultural artifacts or practices.

Electronic News is a quarterly journal devoted to advancing knowledge and understanding of the news as disseminated through electronic media channels.

Foundations and Trends in Communications and Information Theory is a peer-reviewed academic journal that publishes long survey and tutorial articles in the field of communication and information theory.

Published through Howard University, the Howard Journal of Communications is a quarterly journal that publishes original and current research papers focusing on ethnicity and culture as they interact with communication. It encourages research that seeks to combat racism and is written by authors from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds. The purpose of the journal is to serve as a forum for researchers as well as policy and decision makers who seek to use research as the frame for social awareness and change. The journal has a strong history of providing space and voice for persons and ideas that would otherwise be silenced.

The Journal of Magazine Media is dedicated to publishing articles that explore the fields of magazines and magazine media, including but not limited to research related to magazine and digital media production; publishers, editors, and other producers of magazines; writers; visual design and photography; content, including journalism and storytelling associated with the magazine form; advertising; audiences; history; socio-cultural influence; and effects.

The Journal of Public Interest Communications is an open-access, interdisciplinary journal that publishes peer-reviewed research in the emerging field of public interest communications. JPIC does not require a fee for publication and is free for readers. We welcome submissions from all disciplines and utilizing a variety of qualitative and quantitative methods. Although our primary focus is expanding the empirical and theoretical underpinnings of public interest communications, we also seek submissions with a strong applied element.

Mass Communication and Society ’s mission is to publish articles on a wide variety of topics that advance mass communication theory, especially at the societal or macrosocial level. It publishes original articles and book reviews on topics related to mass media practices, content, effects, messages, and research methods.
