Nexis Uni (formerly LexisNexis) features more than 15,000 news, business, and legal sources. It includes a wide variety of local, state, national, and international newspapers; business and industry news; company information; SEC filings and reports; accounting literature. The legal research section contains federal and state court decisions, federal and state codes, articles from law reviews, and U.S. Supreme Court decisions dating back to 1790.

Use the guide below for instructions on researching industries and businesses through Nexis Uni.


Step 1:

To begin your search of business financials, go to Nexis Uni.




Step 2:

Click on the design to the left of the Nexis Uni name.


Step 3:

Then click on Nexis Dossier.



Step 4:

Nexis Dossier provides researchers with various search options. Since the research being performed is business finance, select the Enter Company Name option, for example, Home Depot Inc.



Step 5:

The search for Home Depot Inc. produced three results. The first search result is the only option that matches the corporation being researched. So, click on the first result.


Step 6:

Clicking on the first result produces a wealth of information about Home Depot Inc., such as Company Information, Financial Overview, News, Industry Knowledge, Investment Research, and more. Click on Financial Overview.



Step 7:

The Financial Overview provides extensive data on the financial state of Home Depot Inc. Researchers may scroll through the data to locate needed financials or click on one of the remaining tabs, including Assets, Liabilities, Income, Cash Flow, Balance Sheet, Ratio Analysis, Stock Information, and Products.
