By clicking on the links to the left, you will find information about Open Educational Resources. These materials are available at the Eugene McDermott Library and online. They will be of use to education students, K-12 teachers, professors, and scholars.
According to the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, Open Educational Resources (OERs) can be defined as "teaching, learning, and research resources that reside in the public domain or have been released under an intellectual property license that permits their free use and re-purposing by others. OER include full courses, course materials, modules, textbooks, streaming videos, tests, software, and any other tools, materials, or techniques used to support access to knowledge".
To learn more about Open Educational Resources, watch the above short video from Robin DeRosa, director of Learning & Libraries and the director of the Open Learning & Teaching Collaborative at Plymouth (NH) State University. Another great source of information on open materials is the LibGuide Open Educational Resources (OER), by Alexander Rodriguez. library liaison to the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering & Computer Science (ECS) and Open Educational Resources.
