How to find conference proceedings at the library.

How to Find Conference Proceedings

  1. On the Library Homepage, go to the Library Catalog (default search), and enter the keywords for the proceeding:

We recommend using one or more of the following as your keyword(s): conference title, contributor(s)/author(s), topic/subject keyword(s), conference location, year, and/or publisher.
  2. In this example, we are using the terms "gaming entertainment media 2024" to look for the 2024 IEEE Gaming, Entertainment, and Media Conference (GEM)

Conference proceedings can be listed under multiple resource types, but they tend to be classified as conference proceedings proper or as books:

  3. Another strategy is to add the terms "conference proceeding" or "conference proceedings" to your search. Alternatively, click the Conference Proceedings filter under "Resource Type" in the Refine my results column after your results appear:

  4. If the proceeding is available in paper, click the Map It button next to the title to find the floor (location) and call number:

  5. Most proceedings will be electronic and can be found easily by searching under the Library Catalog. However, if you are looking for a specific conference paper or article by title, we recommend searching under the Articles & More search:
