Data, Statistics, and Datasets:
Data is raw numbers or unprocessed information collected for a specific subject.
Statistics are similar, but statistics are processed data that has been formatted to display relationships between variables. This will often appear in a chart of percentages or ratios.
A dataset is a file of unprocessed data that can be manipulated to create new statistical reports.
The Eugene McDermott Library provides a variety of datasets that strongly support the research and classwork of all University of Texas at Dallas students, faculty, and staff. This libguide is an introduction into what datasets are available and how to get access.
