Autism Spectrum Disorder

Autism spectrum disorder includes several medical conditions in which individuals commonly have difficulty with social skills and communication. This page is meant to provide useful resources on the topic to members of the UTD community.

Introduction to Autism Spectrum Disorder

The National Institute of Mental Health defines autism as "a neurological and developmental disorder that affects how people interact with others, communicate, learn, and behave". Even so, autism is labeled a spectrum disorder because its symptoms can manifest differently in each person.

This guide is intended to introduce the topic of autism spectrum disorder to community members at the University of Texas at Dallas and to inform them of available resources.
