Exercise Science

The journal emphasizes the human sciences, broadly defined, and applied to sport and exercise, which is inclusively defined to refer to all forms of human movement that aim to maintain or improve physical and mental well-being, create or improve social relationships, or obtain results in competition at all levels. Editorial boards can also evaluate animal projects.

Comparative Exercise Physiology is the only journal specifically dealing with the latest research in comparative exercise physiology across all animal species, including humans. It offers an understanding of the physiological, nutritional and biochemical parameters that determine levels of performance and athletic achievement, through both primary and review material. The core subjects include: exercise physiology, biomechanics, gait (including the effect of riders), nutrition and biochemistry, injury and rehabilitation, psychology and behaviour, and breeding and genetics.

Human Movement is a quarterly peer-reviewed journal published by Wroclaw University of Health and Sport Sciences. Human Movement aims to promote research in sport sciences. The journal publishes research papers in five fields as follows:
– Physical activity, fitness and health
– Applied sport sciences
– Biomechanics and motor control
– Physiological aspects of sports
– Psychological diagnostics of sport and exercise.

The International Journal of Exercise Science (IJES), published by Western Kentucky University, is dedicated to advancing the field of movement sciences by providing a platform for research-minded professionals, with a special emphasis on serving students and early-career investigators. IJES seeks to foster the development of scholarly dissemination and peer-review skills in both students and professionals, supporting the next generation of researchers in their contributions to exercise science.

International SportMed Journal contains practical articles to help people "practice" sports medicine better; includes articles on nutrition, psychology, physiology, and biomechanics as they pertain to the practice of sports medicine.

Isokinetics & Exercise Science meets the needs of the contemporary exercise scientist and medical practitioner through a consolidated focus on the field of isokinetics.

The Journal of Applied Physiology publishes the highest quality original research and reviews that examine novel adaptive and integrative physiological mechanisms in humans and animals that advance the field. The journal encourages the submission of manuscripts that examine the acute and adaptive responses of various organs, tissues, cells and/or molecular pathways to environmental, physiological and/or pathophysiological stressors. As an applied physiology journal, topics of interest are not limited to a particular organ system. The journal, therefore, considers a wide array of integrative and translational research topics examining the mechanisms involved in disease processes and mitigation strategies, as well as the promotion of health and well-being throughout the lifespan. Priority is given to manuscripts that provide mechanistic insight deemed to exert an impact on the field.

The Journal of Exercise Science and Fitness is the official peer-reviewed journal of The Society of Chinese Scholars on Exercise Physiology and Fitness (SCSEPF), the Physical Fitness Association of Hong Kong, China (HKPFA), and the Hong Kong Association of Sports Medicine and Sports Science (HKASMSS). It is published quarterly, in January, April, July and October, by Elsevier.

The Journal of Science and Medicine in Sport is the official journal of Sports Medicine Australia (SMA) and is an an international refereed research publication covering all aspects of sport science and medicine. The Journal considers for publication Original research and Review papers in the sub-disciplines relating generally to the broad sports medicine and sports science fields: sports and exercise medicine, sport injury (including injury epidemiology and injury prevention), exercise therapy (using exercise and sport as an intervention, e. g. in rehabilitation from chronic disease), physiotherapy, podiatry, physical activity and health, sport science, biomechanics, exercise physiology, motor control and learning, sport and exercise psychology, sports nutrition, public health (as relevant to sport and exercise), and rehabilitation and injury management. Manuscripts with an interdisciplinary perspective with specific applications to sport and exercise and its interaction with health will also be considered.

The scope of Measurement in Physical Education and Exercise Science (MPEES) covers original measurement research, special issues, and tutorials within six substantive disciplines of physical education and exercise science. Six of the seven sections of MPEES define the substantive disciplines within the purview of the original research to be published in the journal: Exercise Science, Physical Activity, Physical Education Pedagogy, Psychology, Research Methodology and Statistics, and Sport Management and Administration. The seventh section of MPEES, Tutorial and Teacher’s Toolbox, serves to provide an outlet for review and/or didactic manuscripts to be published in the journal. Special issues provide an avenue for a coherent set of manuscripts (e.g., four to five) to collectively focus in-depth on an important and timely measurement-related issue within the scope of MPEES. The primary aim of MPEES is to publish high-impact manuscripts, most of which will focus on original research, that fit within the scope of the journal.

Sports Medicine and Health Science (SMHS) journal is an open-access peer-reviewed journal of the China Sport Science Society. SMHS primarily focuses on sports medicine, physical activity, and exercise-related health sciences.
