2020 International Consultancy Experience

2020 International Consultancy Experience Competition
Deakin University & The University of Texas at Dallas Virtual Exchange Partnership
Summary
This is an elite competition in which four undergraduate five-member “Consultant Teams” from both
Deakin University (AU) and Jindal School of Management at The University of Texas at Dallas (USA) compete to address clients’ business
problems on a 1:1 basis. Teams create a report and present at the final meeting, where they will receive
feedback from the client and industry judges.
Goals
In this challenge, students act as consultants. They work directly with a company or nonprofit
organization contact to identify, understand and attempt to resolve a real-world business problem. The
competition between time-zone teams allows the two teams to independently develop different
viewpoints based on the same client information. Deliverables will attempt to best address the client’s
needs. Students will receive feedback from the client and industry judges and then reflect on differences
between the two teams.
Details
Four teams from both Deakin and Jindal School of Management at UT Dallas will compete. Each team will be matched with a team from
the other university to compete to best address a client’s business problem. During the two week
competition, each client contact will be available to present current issues to the teams at the kick-off
meeting, provide further details in two one-hour “Q & A” sessions (which both competing teams will
attend) and then will attend the final online presentations.
